A Message From Our MD

Oh what a year it has been! Nothing less than a roller coaster ride – with the unexpected ups and downs, sharp turns, the unanticipated rises to the top, followed by the surprising dips, keeping us guessing constantly as to 'what's next'. At the end of it all, we all came out with a sigh of relief that it's over – finally. And now we look forward to the next ride – this time much more prepared and having a good idea of what to expect. This is what life is all about, isn't it! We keep going through experiences in our lives which helps us organize and prepare ourselves better for the 'next time'. 2020 might have been a forgettable year for most, but I believe it has impacted each one of us in a way where it has made us stronger, more adaptive to change, more appreciative of our families and friends, improved our gratitude levels towards the resources that are available to us, and above all, realizing the fact that we are capable of fighting the biggest challenges and trials that life puts us through. Personally for me, the biggest off take from the year was the fact that as an organization we were able to take care of every individual within the company. We did not have to take any decisions which would have impacted the livelihoods of our families. All of this was possible due to the decisions we have taken in good times, which helped us pass smoothly through the turbulent times. After all, what good is an organization that cannot take a few hits, which cannot take care of its stakeholders, which cannot embrace the very people who built it in the first place with their constant efforts and dedication? We can all say proudly that not only did we survive 2020, we actually pushed against the tide and moved forward. I can talk about so many good things that have happened to us in 2020, but we must consider the feelings of the people who have been on the other side. My heart goes out to the people who have been directly affected by this dreaded pandemic - people who have lost their loved ones, people who have had their friends and families impacted in some way or the other. It is those who we think off and feel extremely fortunate to still be around our families, to still be alive and un-impacted, to be in a country that has given us all the protection and care when we needed it. It is now our obligation to make sure that we become more appreciable of our lives, and be socially responsible towards the society that has given us so much. We look forward to 2021 in anticipation for being the year when we complete 20 years of A-MAP. Let this year be the year of festivity and celebration. I wish everyone a prosperous and healthy year and life ahead. God speed. Asad Badami MD, A-MAP
